My autobiographical statement
I am a 47 year old (how can that be!) mom of 6. Two are currently FHS students. The oldest is at TTU, and 3 are being home schooled. Enough about them. I was a nursing major at UT Memphis back in the 80s because I wanted to major in everything and be a renaissance woman who knew a little about everything. But I had limited money and was forced to declare a major. I wore out an MTSU catalog trying to find myself and a major I could live with and nursing is what I came up with.
I met my husband at MTSU. In another life he wanted to be a pilot but wound up breaking things at a national lab (materials science destructive testing). Each of our six kids was born out of optimism and faith in the future and the God who holds it in His hands. And oh my, life would have been boring without them! In home schooling all of them for a season, I get to live my dream and keep studying to know a little about everything.
I read young people's blogs sometimes because I like to know how you guys think, and you all obviously think they are important or you wouldn't spend so much time posting and reading each others' posts. As I read, I pray for you that you will make wise choices in your lives and that your life journeys will be good ones and that you will look back when you are old with few regrets. (I'm not old yet, but I can see it from here!)
One more thing: When I was a child, I was “bookish,” as my concerned mother said. Books are very important to me, and I'm always reading several, even though life as it rushes along makes me slow to finish them. Books influence me, and help keep me sane.
